A little bit about this recipe…..
These are really great – maybe a bit too spicy for the little ones! Feel free to substitute beef mince for venison!
Ingredients
- 750g venison mince
- 2 tbsp sunflower (or other) oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 tbsp ginger paste
- 1/2 tbsp garlic paste
- 2 chillies, finely chopped
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- Pinch of salt
- 3 tsp ground turmeric
- 2 tsp chilli powder
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh corriander
Method
- Put the oil in a pan on a medium heat and cook the onions – until they are softened and slightly coloured.
- Chuck in the ginger & garlic paste and the chilli and cook until there is no liquid left in the pan.
- Empty the pan onto a tray and let it cool.
- Bung everything into a mixing bowl and mix together (you can use a food processor but I find hands are best). The more you mix, the smoother the mixture will become.
- Shape into 7 burgers and you are all ready.
- I won’t bother telling you how to cook a burger!
Blags, Tips & Tricks
- If you are using venison – it is very easy to overcook the burgers. We like them a little bit pink in the middle!
- This is just a guide – be brave!
