Hi everyone – Paps here.
I wanted to put something out there and see if there’s any interest.
I’m looking to start offering locally sourced venison, prepared from deer that have been responsibly managed and butchered locally. The idea is to sell this as either a half animal or whole animal, so you get a proper mix of cuts – steaks, roasting joints, mince, slow-cook cuts – rather than just the popular bits.
The price would be £15 per kilo, which might sound a lot at first glance, but when you compare it to beef (which averages around £12 per kilo and goes much higher for decent cuts), it actually represents really good value – especially for the quality.
Venison is:
- naturally lean and high in protein
- a great source of iron and nutrients
- completely free-range and sustainable
- and, in my opinion, absolutely delicious
You’d also have the option to add venison sausages and burgers, made from the same meat, at the same price per kilo.
The aim here is simple:
👉 high-quality, local meat
👉 no waste (everything used properly)
👉 and something a bit different from the usual supermarket options
I would be offering free delivery within roughly a 20-mile radius of Uckfield.
At this stage, I’m just trying to gauge interest – so if this is something you’d consider, or you’d like a bit more information on what you’d get in a half or whole animal, just drop me a message or comment below.
No pressure at all – just seeing if there’s an appetite for it.
All the best,
Paps 👍
