Amand Addock

(Ham & Haddock… apparently!)

First of all… Paps came up with the title for this one!!!

A few days ago, Paps bought a 2.5kg gammon from Lidl because it was on special offer. Now, 2.5kg of gammon for just the two of us was… optimistic. Unsurprisingly, we had quite a bit left over.

We worked our way through the usual options – sandwiches, gammon, egg & chips – but still had some lingering in the fridge.

So… what to do?

After a bit of Googling, I came across the idea that smoked haddock goes really well with ham/gammon, which sounded promising.

I sent Paps off to the shops with very clear instructions:
“Get me some smoked haddock – the proper stuff, not that fluorescent yellow sh*t.”

And what did he come back with?

Glow-in-the-dark smoked Basa.

A textbook failure to follow instructions 😄

Anyway… I decided to go with it and threw something together.
This is a full-on blag recipe – no plan, just using what we had.

The result?
A really, really delicious supper.

So, if you ever find yourself with leftover ham or gammon, you absolutely must give this a go.

I’ve added the recipe below if you want a starting point – but as always, use what you’ve got and make it your own.

Lots of love,
Jam Jam 💛
