Hello… I Think This Is a Blog?

Well. Here we go….

I never thought I’d be writing something like this – mostly because I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing, where this is going, or who on earth is going to read it. But apparently that’s how these things start, so here we are.

I’m Sally… but everyone who matters calls me Jam Jam.

This little corner of the internet is something we’ve been talking about for a while. Usually while cooking. Or washing up. Or when I’ve said “I’ll just quickly make something” and three hours later the kitchen looks like a small explosion and Paps is wondering what happened to his quiet evening.

The idea is simple really:

  • Cook proper food
  • Use what we’ve got
  • Waste as little as possible
  • And enjoy it along the way

Jam Jam’s Kitchen isn’t about fancy food or perfect plates. It’s about feeding people you love, on a budget, without stress – and with a bit of humour when things don’t quite go to plan.

This bit – Jam Jam’s World – is where I’ll pop in and tell you what I’m up to. Some days it’ll be cooking. Some days it’ll be leftovers, blags, experiments, or things that probably shouldn’t have worked but somehow did. Other days it might just be life: dogs under my feet, Winston judging me silently, or Paps “helping” in the kitchen.

I’ll be honest – I’m a bit nervous. We’ve never done videos before. I talk to myself while cooking, but that’s different when there’s a camera involved. Still, if I can cook a meal out of half a fridge and a bit of hope, I can probably manage this too.

So this is the start. No rules. No pressure. Just real food, real life, and the odd blag along the way.
