A few days ago, Paps and I floated the idea of offering a small homemade meal delivery service around High Hurstwood and the surrounding villages.
To be completely honest, we weren’t sure what sort of response we would get.
We hoped a few people might like the idea.
What we didn’t expect was the number of lovely comments, messages and suggestions that arrived over the following days.
Some people told us they’d love a night off from cooking now and then. Others said they were interested in freezer-friendly meals, family portions or the occasional pudding. Several people mentioned elderly relatives who might appreciate a homemade meal delivered locally.
The encouragement has been quite overwhelming and, for the first time, we’re beginning to think this might actually work.
There’s still plenty to figure out. We need to decide on menus, portion sizes, packaging, delivery routes and all the practical bits that sit behind the scenes. We also want to make sure that if we do this, we do it properly.
But we’re definitely a step closer than we were last week.
One thing that has really struck us is how supportive everyone has been. Jam Jam’s Kitchen started as a simple hobby website where I could share recipes, stories and the occasional kitchen blag. The thought that it might grow into something that helps local families and neighbours enjoy a homemade meal is incredibly exciting.
To help us understand what people would like, we’ve now created the Jam Jam Tasting Club.
If you’d like to hear about future menus, trial runs and special offers, we’d love you to join. There’s absolutely no obligation to order anything – we’re simply gathering ideas and learning what local people would enjoy.
You can join the Tasting Club here:

Thank you to everyone who has commented, shared ideas and offered encouragement. Every message has helped build our confidence that this could become something rather special.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some recipes to test and Paps has several freezers to reorganise.
Love,
Jam Jam xxx
