Blaghetti

A little bit about this recipe…..

Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 10 mins | Serves: 4 | Cost: £3

This recipe came about because Paps went to Lidl alone and came back with two tubs of herb cream cheese. So I needed to come up with something.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 courgette roughly chopped
  • 1 red pepper chopped
  • 2 red chilli chopped (optional)
  • 4 asparagus spears chopped
  • Spagetti
  • 200 g raw king prawns
  • 200 g cream cheese with herbs
  • Grated parmesan cheese to serve (optional)

Method

  1. Bring a pan of water to boil and add spaghetti
  2. While spaghetti is cooking, melt a large knob of butter in a pan
  3. Once melted add onion and cook until just soft
  4. Add garlic and chilli if using and cook for 1 minute
  5. Add pepper, asparagus and courgette
  6. When vegetables are just soft stir in cream cheese
  7. Stir until cheese has completely melted
  8. Add prawns and cook until pink
  9. Drain spaghetti and stir into the sauce
  10. Once plated, sprinkle with parmesan

Blags, Tips & Tricks

  • You could substitute prawns for cooked chicken, beef ham etc or it would make a really good vegetarian option.
