Hello everyone… Paps here.
Over the years I’ve tried just about every type of knife sharpener out there – from the old-fashioned steel to all sorts of fancy electric gizmos. Despite this, I still watch those chefs on TV slice an onion in about one second and generally feel slightly inadequate.
A few months ago I spotted this sharpener on a well-known website (link below). I’d actually seen something similar in our local butcher’s shop, so I thought I’d give it a try. I paid £13 for mine, although I’ve since noticed that Temu has similar ones for about half that.
My verdict?
It’s really, really good.
It’s great for reviving those forgotten blunt knives – you know, the ones lurking at the back of the kitchen drawer – but it’s also brilliant for day-to-day sharpening. It gets your knives very sharp very quickly, and it’s incredibly easy to use.
So from me, this one gets a full recommendation.
Check out the Samurai Sharpener here 👉 Samurai Sharp (but as I said earlier…..cheaper versions are available!!!
All the best,
Paps 👍
PS. My onion slicing time hasn’t dramatically improved… but the slices do look very professional now 😄
