In my post yesterday, Lunch with Best Friends I mentioned that I was making a honeycomb and salted caramel cheesecake……well……let me give you a little background here:
In the week we went with our daughter and son-in law (Larah & Sean) to our local pub in Mayfield – The Rose and Crown. We love it there, very friendly, great food and a really homely atmosphere. We had a few drinks and ordered some bar snacks (which were lovely). Larah noticed the table next to us was having cheesecake and got Paps to go and find out what sort of cheesecake it was and order her some.
It was a honeycomb and salted caramel cheesecake and was bloody delicious. The next day I got a call from Larah asking (no) suggesting (no) demanding that I make her one! So I had a go and put hers in the freezer. Then I thought..I could give this to my friends for lunch and made another one!
This was the result! It tasted really yummy but as you can see…the presentation wasn’t great! However, not wanting to waste any, I ‘poured’ it into a plastic tub and put it in the freezer – it’s gonna make super ice cream!
Things don’t always work…..but nothing was wasted and we had a really good laugh.
Obviously, I won’t put this in a recipe until I have perfected it!
